Sacramento is described as a city that promotes racial harmony, while attracting a large homeless population. Heading to Sacramento has become an affordable option for some California residents.

Sacramento is the capitol of California located about 90 minutes northeast of Oakland and San Francisco. Sacramento s population has grown by an estimated 12% in the five years since the 2000 U.S. Census. Immigrants and people seeking lower housing costs have sought out the city while housing costs soar in surrounding communities. With 456,441 citizens, Sacramento is the fifth largest city in the state. The metropolitan area is the fourth-largest in California with 2,042,283 residents. The community has been cited as one of the five “most livable” regions in America. In 2002,

Time magazine picked Sacramento as the nation’s Most Integrated City. The White non-Hispanic community made up 36% of the population in 2005, 25% were Hispanic, 18.4% Asian and 16.3% African-American. Families made up 61% of city households. The median family income was $50,653, a little more than $5,000 below the national average. The percentage of people living in poverty was high at 19.2%, including 31.2% of all African-American residents. The city s mild climate, easy access and tolerance have been cited as reasons for an influx of homeless people.

The 2006 NBA playoffs are off and running this year with many potential surprises on the way. The regular season is over, with the number one Detroit Pistons facing the number eight Milwaukee Bucks in the eastern conference. Other match-ups in the eastern conference are the Chicago Bulls against the Miami Heat, the Indiana Pacers versus the New Jersey Nets and the Cleveland Cavaliers squaring off against the Washington Wizards. The eastern conference is having some tough series. So far nobody is going to be swept in a series with the Bucks grabbing a win against the Pistons after being down a few games. The rest of the teams have been tied up and time

will tell who will advance into the semi-finals for the conference.

Born on June 7, 1975, Allen Iverson is a graduate of Georgetown and currently plays a guard position for the Philadelphia 76ers. He stands 6′ tall and weighs 165 lbs. Following his high school years at Bethel High School in Hampton, Virginia, Allen Iverson was honored by having his jersey number retired during the school s 1993 State Championship halftime ceremony. For the golfer, Redding California has several public golf courses to choose from. Lake Redding Golf Course is a NCGA rated course located near the heart of downtown Redding. This course is a 9-hole course with a par of 32. If you prefer 18 holes of golf there is also the Gold Hills Course which is also close to downtown Redding. It has a course rating of 72.2 and is played on Bermuda grass. The Allen Golf course, which is eleven miles from Redding, is a 9-hole course with a 31 par and is the only course with 9 regulation holes. Lake Shastina Golf Resort offers 27 holes of golf with a tee to fit every

age and ability. Lake Shasitna is nestled in the pines near Mount Shasta and only 60 miles from Redding.
